If it wasn't because you already predicted the bad news, you could be thinking: "Phew! I'm still alive" (i.e., you didn't pass, which means that at the possibly last round, you are still the global leader... That's maybe good news). Notice that if you had passed and Mike played something other than his last three, then it would be a mathematical certainty that they will win -- Mike would be playing ahead, with one tile that nobody can block -- it's a head)
But, as you may have predicted, what a funny coincidence... Remember what was the last three? Yes, it is the 3-0. And BTW, there are already six blanks on the table, which meand that the 3-0 is both the last three, and the last blank.
You know what that means,
right? Exactly: after you play your 1-0, the game will be blocked
as soon as Mike plays (no matter what -- it's not his choice to block it!).
He will only have the 3-0 to play (because there are no other 3's or 0's).
So, if he plays it to the 3's, then the game is blocked, and if he plays
it to the blank, the game is also blocked. Bang! Finito.
(and sorry to break the bad news, but that 5-5 that you have is a lot of
points, which puts you in disadvantage when the game is blocked)
