Well, maybe...  But he is the leader in his team (by two rounds, which means that Adam probably doesn't stand a chance to arrive first!), so he must make sure that he will arrive, and having a double in his hand might represent a high risk.

So maybe he decided to make an exception to the proverb "gallo que no repite no es gallo"
