Net Dominó - Demo Game - Second round

[ Demo Game 2 ]

Conclusions

So, this is the board after HAL played the 6-1, as seen by HAL (you are sitting in front of him, with three tiles -- so he is playing ahead of you).

Playing the 6-5 would have been catastrophic!  Can you see why?

Well, just count and see what are the remaining 5's are...  You guessed it!!  0-5 and the double-5.  That means that if HAL plays the 6-5 and Adam has the 0-5, Adam could block the game.  And since he knows that his teammate doesn't have any 6's (Mike passed on 6's), he would have probably chosen to block the game (when forcing the game to 5's, only the double-5 was remaining, and it was almost surely in their hands -- and Adam should know that).

And as for playing the 0-4;  well, not too good either;  that would give them too many choices (there's the 4-3 out there), Adam might have the 6-4 and force it to 4's.  Trust me: Catastrophee;  bad news!

HAL was a genious and his decision of playing the 6-1 made the difference between winning and losing this round!

So, enough!  These demos can only give you hints and ideas.  But you have to get some field training!  So go ahead, go play some real Net Domino and learn from your own experience and from other people's advice.

It may be a good idea that you state that you are a beginner (well, assuming that you are reading this because you are a beginner), so that the other players give you advice and point out where you make mistakes.  Don't take their remarks the wrong way!  Take them as advice that will teach you how to avoid the same mistake in the future!
